Modern tattoo and
piercing studio in
Broughty Ferry

Introduction

More Ink tattoo and piercing studio was established in 2021 in the heart of Broughty Ferry, Dundee. Tattoo artist Ross runs the studio that offers a wide variety of custom-designed styles.

It can be a big step having your first tattoo, or an investment for a larger creation, and we want you to feel reassured you are in safe and professional hands. We’ll only ever apply a design you are completely happy with.

Each step is important to us, from general enquiry, consultation, and the tattoo process itself. No matter the size, no matter the design each piece is custom created with you in mind. Feel free to bring in references of your idea and we'll help you create something beautifully unique.

Ross has undergone an intensive apprenticeship in piercing, and is highly competent in sterilisation techniques and cross contamination awareness. All equipment used during piercing procedures is autoclave sterilised and hospital grade disinfected. We stock a wide range of jewellery that can be upgraded on the day.

About me

Ross

I’m Ross, and I’ve been tattooing for about six years, having had a passion all my life for drawing and going to tattoo conventions. I’m always keen to try new styles and get excited to see what designs my clients would like.

I really enjoy working on custom pieces using black and grey, no two designs are ever the same and I get really inspired by what my clients show me, it makes my job very exciting.

When I’m not working, I spend my time being bossed around by two chihuahuas, my wife, and daughter! I enjoy spending it on the golf course or watching the football supporting my team Manchester United, don’t let that put you off though I have been known to tattoo a Liverpool badge…. You just won’t see that on my social media ;)

Contact Ross to discuss your custom tattoo design, position and cost.

Bring with you some bottled water or juice, a fully charged mobile phone (with headphones if you want to listen to your own music or to play games), snacks (particularly ones high in carbohydrates and protein like granola bars, nuts, crisps, crackers, or fresh fruit).

It might seem to go without saying, but please make sure you shower or bathe beforehand. Unless you’re getting an underarm tattoo, please also wear deodorant. You should consider wearing clothes that it won’t matter if you get ink stains on. Even in the summer it’s a good idea to bring a sweatshirt or something warm to wear because getting tattooed can sometimes make you feel cold.

The area to be tattooed, and usually a large space surrounding it, will need to be shaved to prepare your skin for the tattoo. Please do not shave this area before your appointment. Tattoo artists are used to shaving people for tattoo preparation so you don’t worry about being shy or embarrassed, they’ve seen it all. We will only ask the area to be tattooed to be uncovered and if having multiple tattoos only one area will be exposed at a time.

Avoid using fake tan before your tattoo and until the tattoo is healed.

We will not tattoo anyone under the influence of alcohol. If you have an appointment and are turned away for being intoxicated and/or under the influence, you will lose your deposit.

Don’t drink lots of caffeine or energy drinks before coming in. It will thin your blood and make you less likely to sit still. Please do not use any kind of pain-relief medication. That can as well as drugs and alcohol, thin your blood, this can make you bleed more during the actual process and cause your tattoo to come out a little on the fuzzy-looking side. It also doesn't allow ink to be taken in the skin properly and it can result more pain than it actually should!

You are required to bring photographic ID in the form of a passport or driving license. The law dictates that we cannot tattoo anyone under the age of 18, even if you have parental consent.

We will never tattoo someone who is or thinks they may be pregnant.
